Chapter of the Year
FOR THE MOST OUTSTANDING SFI REGION ONE CHAPTER This is a chapter, with two years or more service ,that exemplifies the best of what STARFLEET is: a club that promotes the ideals of “Star Trek," is involved in community and/or charitable service, promotes fun activities and projects, and has a solid administration. The chapter’s newsletter and handbook (if any) should be a reflection of the chapter as well. Submission not to exceed 750 words Ribbon Description ORANGE Devices Bronze "1" and Silver Oak Leaf for subsequent awards.

Best Shakedown Cruise
(Chapter in Training) THE MOST OUTSTANDING DEVELOPING STARFLEET CHAPTER For the chapter that best shows the qualities of and the potential of being an ideal SFI chapter. Additionally, the chapter-in-training. Commanding Officer must have filed all his/her reports on time and receive a good assessment from the support ship and/or the Region 01 SHoC director. Any chapter that was "in training" for most of the award year (minimum of 6 months) falls into this category. The CO of the chapter should submit this. Submission not to exceed 750 words Ribbon description - RED Devices - Bronze "1"
FIRST MISSION AWARD (RETIRED)
BEST FIRST YEAR PEFORMANCE BY A STARSHIP A starship that has performed its first year with excellence, showing qualities of being a "starship of the year". Only SFI R1 chapters that have existed less then two years in SFI are eligible for this award. This is for chapters' first year as a commissioned SFI chapter Entry and judging are the same as Starship of the Year. CO and /or XO should submit this entry (not to exceed 1000 words)
Class of Excellence
COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE YEAR For a SFI REGION ONE CO, of a commissioned SFI chapter who has shown excellent leadership and administration skills, is well thought of by his/her crew, but most significantly, helps set the direction and vision for the chapter. He/she is OTS/OCC qualified, has been a CO for at least two years and has not missed a report or filed late (without excuse). Also has been instrumental in helping any shuttles attached to his/her command; and fosters crew involvement in SFI Region 01 and STARFLEET. The XO and Command staff of the chapter should submit this award. Submission not to exceed 750 words. Ribbon Description - Yellow Devices Bronze "1" and Silver Oak Leaf for subsequent awards.
Mothership "Support ship" of the Year
The Most Outstanding Help Towards A Developing SFI Region One Chapter Awarded to the Region One Chapter that encourages and fosters the growth of a chapter in training by taking on the added task of responsibility, advising, and assisting the new chapter as it travels its journey from chapter in training to commissioned chapter. This support ship assists the chapter in training to effectively and actively run their own chapter level events as well as participation in Regional and Fleet level events when possible. This award should be submitted by the CO of the chapter in training.
Jonathan Archer Award
(Rookie CO) Outstanding Performance by a First Year Chapter Commanding Office For the rookie SFI Region One CO, of a commissioned SFI chapter with one year in command who has shown excellent leadership and administration skills, is well thought of by his/her crew, but most significantly, helps set the direction and vision for the chapter during his first year of Command. He/she is OTS/OCC qualified, has not missed a report or filed late (without excuse). Also has fosters crew involvement in SFI Region 01 and STARFLEET. Number One
Executive Officer of the Year For a SFI REGION ONE XO who has shown excellent leadership and administration skills, is well thought of by his/her crew, but most significantly, helps set the direction and vision for the chapter. He/she is OTS/OCC qualified, has been an XO for at least one year and has not missed a report or filed late (without excuse) and fosters crew involvement in SFI Region 01 and STARFLEET. Submission not to exceed 750 words.
REGION ONE CADET OF THE YEAR
FOR THE MOST OUTSTANDING CADET OF THE YEAR. For a member up to 18 years of age, who has shown significant involvement on his/her starship, does very well in school, and shown an avid interest in science fact. The cadet may have also taken a course(s) at STARFLEET Academy. The Commanding Officer recommends this eligible cadet. Submission not to exceed 750 words. Ribbon description - Rust Devices - Bronze "1" and Silver Oak Leaf for subsequent awards.
REGION ONE MEDAL
(Member of the Year) FOR THE MOST OUTSTANDING MEMBER OF THE YEAR. This is for the member who has shown best overall dedication and involvement to SFI REGION ONE and his/her starship; and has made significant accomplishments to it. Commanding Officer submits candidates (One Flag Officer/One Enlisted/One Officer) for this award. (Sitting COs are not eligible for the officer or flag officer category since their is already a CO award) Submission not to exceed 750 words. Ribbon Description -Dark Green Devices - Bronze "1" and Silver Oak Leaf for subsequent awards.
EDITH KEELER AWARD
Most Outstanding 'Do-Gooder' in Region One This recognizes the best all around humanitarian who consistently and persistantly made the most impact in a Volunteer/Community Service in the Region. (Excluding personal monetary donations.) Ribbon description - Peach Devices - Bronze "1" and Silver Oak Leaf for subsequent awards.
DEPARTMENT OF THE YEAR
OUTSTANDING REGION ONE CHAPTER DEPARTMENT OF THE YEAR For the best all around chapters department and most outstanding chapter department in Region One. Departments are defined as those or categorized by the by the RDC Program/Fleet Resource Program. Submission not to exceed 1000 words. REGION ONE STAFF MEMBER OF THE YEAR
For the most active and efficient staff member in Region 1 . This award recognizes the Regional Staff members who through their positive efforts enhances the region through exemplary works and example or enhances a regional program for the betterment of a the region.. This award is open to any appointed member of the Region 1 Staff as defined by the Region 1 Handbook, excluding members who already have award categories. The Region One RC selects the recipient of this award. Ribbon description - Green Devices - Silver Oak Leaf, small gold star for subsequent awards
REGION ONE RDC OF THE YEAR
Regional Division Chief of the Year For the most active and efficient Region 01 RDC. Generally awarded to the RDC who generates interest in his/her program and fosters communications between the program participants. The RDC Program director selects the recipient of this award. COMMUNICATIONS EXCELLENCE
MOST OUTSTANDING PUBLICATION BY A STARSHIP OR REGION Criteria - This is for publications other than newsletters, like fanzines, handbooks, departmental newsletters, and web pages. Ribbon description - DARK GRAY Devices - Bronze "1" and Silver Oak Leaf for subsequent awards.
