STARFLEET R1 Purple Heart Recipients

PO/3  Dina Barron - USS Charleston - Injured at the 1998 R1 Spring Summit in the Conga line.

 

Lt. Lois Gregory for injuries requiring emergency medical treatment during the kickball challenge between the USS Columbia and the Shuttle Argos on 27 September 1998.  She broke four bones in her foot while sliding into second base.

 

Lance CPL Dakota  Cook - USS Normandy - While in attendance for the commissioning of the  USS Dark Wolf' in Kingsport, TN on 13 October 2001 Dakota fell and hit her mouth on a rock and suffered lots of damage to her mouth. Medical attention was given by

 

R Admiral Susan Bolick who is a nurse. Upon visiting a dentist and after x-rays, we found out she had probably damaged her adult teeth but that we wouldn't know how badly until they came in.

 

PVT Dakota Cook -USS Francis Marion -On November 30, 2002, following a luncheon attended by several SFI members, Dakota fell and broke her right arm. Being only 7 years old she was a very brave little girl, much more so than her mother, and did an excellent job dealing with the pain, fear, and confusion of the event and the hospital visit.

 

Commodore Gregory Franklin - USS Reprisal- On Sept 13th, 2003 the Reprisal was holding her first annual Patriot Day Party, and during the Starfleet Bowl, Commodore Franklin caught a pass and sustained an injury to his right thumb. He was taken to the ER where it was revealed to have been broken.

 

Commander Fred Martin -USS Reprisal- On Sept 13th, 2003 the Reprisal was holding her first annual Patriot Day Party, and during the Starfleet Bowl, Cmdr Martin became very ill with symptoms of heat exhaustion. He was attended by several members of the crew and rushed to the hospital. After being treated for low potassium and heat stress he was allowed to go home (210403)

 

CPO Amy E. Heffner -USS Gallifrey- during one of the Gallifrey's Combat Tactical AWAY Training Missions, while protecting the STARFLEET/Gallifrey's Colors and defending her position and our  Command Headquarters during this Tactical Exercise, against an overwhelming force. She diligently upheld the honor  and traditions of the USS Gallifrey, and STARFLEET Region One.(210403)

 

VADM Roger Scritchfield - USS Excalibur- For injuries sustained in an accident on his way to R1 Summit 2007. 210705.22

 

MCPO Jason Kyer of the USS Ohio NCC-75007 for injuries sustained when he fell from a truck while Ohio was participating in Amateur Radio Field Day 07 June 2007. Jason was taken to the hospital to have his injuries looked at. He suffered a scraped forehead and hematoma as well as a bruised knee.

 

Jeanne Wilson of the USS Heimdal while out canvassing for items for the Heimdal auction developed a blood clot in her leg which required surgery and hospitalization

 

 FCaptain Jerry Holden - USS Star League - suffering heat stress/heat exhaustion at August 3, 2013 chapter event, recruiting drive at the Augusta Green Jackets baseball game.
